In 2004, Dr. Anand Swami founded an Organization in the name of his beloved Guru, His Holiness Shri Swami Rama of the Himalayas– Shri Swami Rama Foundation Trust.
Sri Swami Rama Foundation Trust is a non-profit Voluntary organisation working since 2004 for promotion of basic education, health, environment, vocational training and income generation for the socioeconomically deprived people living in the rural, inaccessible areas of the state of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
The original funds for this project were raised from private individual donors across the world through the personal efforts of the Founder, Dr. V. Anand Swami. It covers 15 (fifteen) panchayats in Ambala and Panchkula district near the Shivalik mountain range. More than 50% of these panchayats are inhabited by Scheduled Castes and other backward castes with poor socio economic background. The project has five activity components– primary, elementary and middle school education, health service and health education, income generation for youth and women, environment and sustainable rural development.
In 2007 the education activity of this project was started as non-formal education for parentless children through establishment of Mountain View School with recognition from Board of School Education Haryana. The course curriculum was made in a condensed way that they could complete the study upto class V standard within 5 years. In 2013 the school started admitting day scholars from neighbouring villages and becoming a formal school from Nursery to class 6 (increasing one class every year). Initially we motivated the community for their children's education and admitted 42 children, some of these children never went to school. Today there are 200 Children enrolled in the school. At present funding source for school comes from the minimal fees paid by the children as tuition fee and from individual donors.
Enhance the lives of each and every rural child and fill their lives with happiness!
